When supply outweighs demand, the value of a product will go down. Right now, the value placed on things that offend Muslims is "pretty high." What if the market was overflooded with things that 'they' thought offended us? The value should go down, right? In theory, yes. But, that is not the reality. THe reality is that the demand is still very high, particularly by Muslims.
The value goes down when the demand is above the supply. The value goes down when that thing being traded is no longer as desirable. Granted, anti-Muslim propagandists have an insatiable need to consume and produce the stuff intended to slight Muslims. However, they are not the only consumers of the product. Unfortunately, right now as Muslims, we are also placing a "high demand" on things that help us solidify our perspective of the "other." We WANT to see things that help us reiterate the points that "they do not like us" and "they are unclean and simply hate us."
As we demand more of this to satisfy our own shortcomings and misdirection, we will continue to get more of it because of the simply law of supply and demand.
Of, and if necessary, we can also use our faith to tie this into a little knot. If we 'fear their opinion' and place greater emphasis on it, more than we fear whom we should fear or place greater emphasis upon, would we not continue to be tested with this very thing UNTIL we change what gets our attention?
